For the past twenty years, whenever there has been a shooting of any kind, committed by a young male, people have blamed video games. They say that video games make people violent. But that isn’t true. Video games may make people violent while playing them, but that violence never leads any further than yelling at the television screen. Video games should not be put down. In fact, video games help people better their motor skills, the military uses video games for training exercises, and a lot of people use video games to relieve stress. A lot of people view video games as being bad and say that they rot your brain and cause violence, but research shows that they can indeed help you. And according to the Aviation Week Space Technology; the military uses video games to simulate war. They like to use these â€Å"games† to help get the soldiers ready for actual war. These simulations also help the soldiers with their aim. It has also been found that soldiers that play video games are actually better than those who don’t because holding a gun doesn’t faze them. In fact, America’s military actually has its own video game. The video game is known as America’s Army and it is to promote teamwork and train soldiers in combat. This game is not only used to train them on â€Å"how to kill†; it used to teach teamwork and even teach medics. The game is highly realistic and simulates actual wounds. It’s not, you get shot and head for cover and get healed. If you get shot you’d have to treat it as though it was real. The person to treat you, the medic in the game, would have to know how to treat you.
